southside

my first post is dedicated to rai yang lucu

i recently went down south to malacca for an interview with MMU and i must say Malacca is a beautiful state...
anyways, the trip down south was a disappointing though...firstly, the email which invited me for the interview said a post for AD, which to my understanding was Academic Division.

However, whilst being interviewed I found out that AD means Assistant Director for a Business Development in MMU....I was utterly disappointed because I was looking forward for a position in the academic division as a lecturer/tutor in MMU. but that was the start of my disappointing trip back to Kuala Lumpur...

on the way back from malacca, i decided to stopby seremban to have the best cendol ever, the cendol behind Royal Adelphi (the former Hilton) along Jalan A.S Dawood BUT the cendol stall is no longer there and there was indication is had closed for the day whatsoever, it was GONE...

fine! then i decided to take the old road from seremban back to kuala lumpur, thus i've decided to stop over at kajang (since i had to pass semenyih, broga etc) to have satay! i then looked for my favourite satay place which was Sate Abang. but my search was in vain as i found out that not only the restaurant is closed, the building was demolished as well. so i had to go Haji Samuri for my dose of satay.

so i would like to ask those who are familiar with the Kajang and Seremban area, does Sate Abang still exist? it was runned by 2 sisters and a brother i think and the brother (who makes the drinks) wears his pants quite high as a result, my family and i call him ST which stand for seluar tinggi. And also did the Cendol moved to another location or the went out of business?

but i did had fun sight seeing in Malacca though. So my fellow bloodyhell boys, jom road trip gi malacca! i'm sure ed and i would make it a photographic trip....

p.s/ i did find the place where Syad takes his bath in Kajang, Taman Sungai Jambu....

Penang Trip?

Ok, ok enough of politics and serious issues, hehe.

Just now us PNB MTs plus Hariz Vince, Rai and Safa met up for a game of bowling and dinner. We talked about going on a trip together...

So guys, how about a trip north to Penang? Imaan would be back by then, and I would have to do the in-law trip (hehe, marital obligations) on April 7-9, insya Allah. So if you guys come up that particular weekend, Imaan and I can give you guys a free tour. For those who didnt make it to Penang for my nuptials last year, well treat this as a second kenduri - i.e. the Penang trip minus the free food of course. And you guys have to figure out the accommodation la. But we can have some fun in Penang. And for us PNB MTs, we can treat this as a post-exam celebration.

How about that?

Those in the UK still divided to attend the Akyuem program, well this is a week after so you can actually do both (even if you dont go to the Akyuem program I don't care since I have no role anymore hehehe).

My thoughts on the oil price hike

For you bloodyhellboys (and girls) who have started working and drive to work, I'm sure the oil price hike really hit your wallet.

My own thoughts on the matter: I think oil subsidies should be reduced gradually over the long term, but the 30 sen hike was a bit too much at the wrong time.

Congrats Man Utd for winning a cup this year!!!

No hard feelings yah? BERANI KERANA BENAR!!! hihihihih

Lu Cilok Gua, Gua Cilok Lu!!!

Akhirnye..setelah sekian lama aku dok tunggu filem ni.. keluar gak ko kat torrent. (sorry la afdlin kalo ko bace ni, mmg aku terpakse download la..nanti aku beli yg original).

Our film industry actually were really rich with our own kind of films. Sape yg tak ingat T.S P Ramlee. And through the time, we sort of lose the identity of our own film. Mmg kita tak lahir zaman P Ramlee, tapi until now we still can laugh to the jokes, feel sad bile tgk cerite Ibu Mertuaku etc.

Sebagai seorang yg critical dalam bab filem ni, aku rasa sejak masuk tahun awal 90an, mmg aku dah tak enjoy langsung kebanyakan filem Malaysia. Lelagi pak Usop Selam nye. ( sorry dude, i still begrudge with u since my kedai mamak gunting rambut incident masa aku kecik2). And now, aku rasa dah tiba seorang hero filem melayu baru yg boleh mengubah segala senario filem negara kita.

Frankly, BPC ni bukan lah a great movie yg setanding cam Saving Private Ryan ke, Life is Beautiful ke. The truth is Malaysian never really speak like in the movie. Be more frank to ourselves man.

Dalam cerite ni, segala jenis bahasa ko boleh dgr. Cina, Punjabi, English, Malay of course, and even English with Kelantanese slangs. Thats just hilarious man. And jalan cerite die ok la. Maybe aku boleh cakap, boleh ditingkatkan lagi. Afdlin pun mcm mengekalkan keselamba-an die dalam berlakon. Thats cool man. At the end of the day, people want something real!! Bukan nya lawak spastik utk budak 3 tahun and expect yg dewasa ni nak gelak sekali. (this goes to senario group, u guys sucks!!)

Maybe aku biased sikit la utk movie ni, sebab aku pun nak tgk sgt first filem yg aku berlakon. Sebagai extra je. LoL! Tapi pandangan aku kat atas tu tak bias langsung ok! Ni mmg pandangan ikhlas aku.

Overall, i can say this movie is one to be seen this year. Kalau korang rajin, carik la aku dalam movie ni. Tak sampai 5 saat pun nampak aku. And i rate myself as horrible dalam scene tu. Lari macam org nak side step rugby je. Maybe takde bakat kot. Or maybe sebab aku dgn kasut kerja, seluar kerja pastu kene suruh lari kat tepi kolam. Takde grip beb!! haha.

Anyway, bagi yg belum tgk cerite ni.. Enjoy it dudes!!! to Afdlin, kudos to u bro!!

Aku letak link blog afdhlin utk sesape tgk.. usya2 la sendiri..

OLE!! PLEASED TO BEAT YOU.

With the KMYS team ive had the honour of playing with many talented footballers. Never have i played with a team which maintained such a long winning streak, score many beautiful goals and defend like their lives depended on it. I wanna mention a few here (please for those i dont mention, i highly rate ure skills, but these guys were very consistent). Rai, was my main stopper and I know i can trust him to stop any striker out there, his positioning is superb. Shidi, made the left wing his. Good control, highly skilled and flair to match. Syad a.k.a rookie of the year, has become our top man in attack (a major transition frm pondan bball player to top striker). Speed, aggression, and good finishing...all traits of a good striker and he has them! Thanks guys, it has been a pleasure playing with u, and i hope to see u guys on the field in the near future. Again, there are many other players i could have mentioned, and i apologise for not doing so (i was just too lazy to make a whole collage consisting the whole team hahahha)

-THIS IS BY NO MEANS AN ADVERT FOR NIKE-

Kertih 24300

When I used to work at Citibank Jalan Ampang and stay at my sister's in Puchong, I somehow found it hard to cope up with almost everythin, especially in terms of financial. Altho I did not have to pay the utility bills, roughly I can say I spent about RM20 per day. LDP toll to and fro, parkin at Kelana Jaya LRT, Monthly Pass, Petrol, lunch - it made my salary of RM2400 per month seemed so little. Not that Im not thankful enuff, but the portion that I use to spend on those things indirectly reduces my spendin power and I tend to get more skint as time passed by.

Then I got Kertih and that has become the turnin point of my life not just financially, but also in all other aspects. Prior to that, during the interview they (PETRONAS) asked me as to whether or not I am willin to work elsewhere other than KLCC and without a doubt I said yes and I up til now I can proudly say that I never regret sayin that. It's been almost 5 months now that Ive lived in Kertih and things arent that bad after all.

Here, the distance from my house to the office is like from KLCC to Tabung Haji, and there's no traffic jams. There's hardly pollution - only beautiful scenery and white sandy beaches. Work starts at 8am and ends at 5pm (Sundays to Thursdays), but I usually get gome later than that unless it's drivin range nights and horse-ridin evenings. It's a quiet place up here but the friends make it a cool place to live in. Rantau PETRONAS is the place (housing) where most of us live, it consists of Rantau Laut, Rantau Bukit and Rantau Paya. Here in Kertih, almost all of us know one another. Furthermore workin in the Public Affairs department of the holding company helps me to understand the locals even better. This include the Mentri Besar. In Kertih is only the Carigali office (which used to be Exxon's) and my office, East Coast Regional Office. The rest - Refinery, Gas, Vinyl Chloride, Ammonia, Optimal, Ethylene and others are located in Paka which is approximately 15 kilometres from here. In April Im gonna move in with Joe, Opie, Nasri and Borhan (KMYS people).

Kertih used to be only a fishermen's village with population approximately 5000 people before PETRONAS came in in 1978. Now, with the expansion of the Petroleum Industrial Complex, the population has risen to up to more than 20,000 people and still rising. Most of us, when I say that I work here, the response should be "apa la ada kat Kertih tu?", and I dont blame them for their ignorance. It's true that Kertih has nothing much to offer, but if we really try to get the best out of it, we'll definitely want to stay here for a little longer. The latest development in Kertih is the construction of Rantau Mall, a project under KLCC Holdings. It's a fast-track project and Insya Allah, by January next year, Kertih people can also have their coffee at Starbucks, buy their favourite best-seller at MPH bookstore, shop at Parkson Grand and watch movies at GSC Cinemas. If God permits.

I do miss hangin out you guys and gays. But life's not always gonna be that smooth and we dont always get what we want. Salman, Cherap, Rai, Fadley, Safa, Heydeq and all, thanks for not forgettin' me and always keepin in touch. Keep those calls and sms-es comin' and I appreciate your thoughts a lot. One day we'll meet again, Insya Allah.

In a nutshell, it is true that it's the people that makes the place great, not the place that makes the people great. come to Kertih, and my friends and I will show you a good time.
